We currently have an exciting career opportunity for a Senior Mechanical Project Engineer with McDonough Canada at our facility in Mactaquac, New Brunswick.

Role summary:

Reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager, the Senior Mechanical Project Engineer will be an integral part of the Engineering team. They will increase capacity to carry out overall system layout design, contributing to an increase in productivity of machinery design by reducing waiting times for critical system design information. The Senior Mechanical Project Engineer will also help with planning of work and identifying tasks critical to meeting schedules.

Roles/responsibilities/duties:

  • Create layout drawings for the design of machinery.
  • Provide designers with the necessary information to enable them to carry out machinery design.
  • Provide layout information to sales.
  • Site visit to review existing layout and obtain survey information.
  • Attend divisional and corporate meetings.
  • Coordinate project related meetings.
  • Prioritize engineering team’ tasks.
  • Monitor and manage schedules.
  • Identify and resolve critical system issues with customers.
  • Quality Control machinery design at various stages of design.
  • Ensure design quality standards are maintained for the engineering team.
  • Mentor junior and intermediate engineers.
  • Ensure electrical design is being coordinated.
  • Provide support during installation of the equipment in the field.
  • Help with the creation of installation drawings, technical information, and other relevant information.

Must have:

  • Degree in Engineering.
  • P.Eng certification.
  • Sawmill experience preferred.
