We are looking for an experienced and driven Engineering Manager to lead our engineering team in Woodstock, and Hanwell, New Brunswick; which the Hanwell office could be the primary location. This role is responsible for overseeing the design, development, and continuous improvement of our equipment while ensuring alignment with production, safety, and business objectives

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary engineering team, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement
  • Oversee the design and development of conveyor systems and sawmill equipment, ensuring solutions are practical, cost-effective, and aligned with customer requirements
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, operations, and project management teams to ensure smooth execution from design through production and installation
  • Drive standardization and continuous improvement in engineering processes, documentation, and design practices
  • Review and approve engineering drawings, specifications, and calculations to ensure quality, safety, and compliance with applicable codes and standards
  • Manage engineering project timelines, priorities, and resource allocation to meet business and customer expectations
  • Provide technical support and troubleshoot issues related to production, installation, and field performance
  • Partner with sales and customers to develop technical solutions and support proposals
  • Ensure all engineering activities comply with health, safety, and environmental standards
  • Contribute to strategic planning, including product development, capital investments, and technology adoption

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline; P.Eng. designation is considered an asset
  • 5-7 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing or heavy equipment environment and in a leadership role
  • Strong experience in the design and manufacturing of conveyor systems, bulk material handling equipment, or similar industrial machinery
  • Solid understanding of fabrication, welding, and manufacturing processes relevant to heavy equipment production
  • Proficiency with CAD and SolidWorks software and engineering systems
  • Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to develop and motivate high-performing teams
  • Strong project management, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and engage with customers
  • Results-driven mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence
