Who we are
McDonough Mfg. Co. is a family owned and operated manufacturer of custom sawmill machinery. We buy steel and all parts, fabricate, CNC and manual machine, assemble, test, and paint all our machinery. Our head office has been in the Chippewa Valley of Wisconsin since 1888. In 2017, we expanded our operations internationally, opening a manufacturing facility in Mactaquac, NB, Canada. Most recently, we welcomed BID Canada Ltd of Woodstock, NB, into the McDonough family.
We currently have an exciting career opportunity for a Project Administrator & Estimator with McDonough Canada at our facility in Mactaquac, New Brunswick.

Opportunity Overview
The Project Administrator & Estimator will be responsible for supporting the McDonough team by ensuring that projects are executed efficiently and effectively. They will also be responsible for estimating and quoting parts as well as shop planning to ensure the smooth operation of the manufacturing process.
Your key Responsibilities
- Support managers in planning and executing projects, including developing schedules, monitoring progress, and coordinating with various departments within the company.
- Work closely with the sales team to understand customer requirements.
- Develop accurate estimates and quotes for parts and services.
- Maintain accurate records of quotes, orders, and invoices to ensure smooth project delivery and timely payments.
- Plan and schedule shop operations to maximize efficiency and ensure on-time delivery of products.
- Work closely with the engineering team to ensure to ensure design scope, approvals and schedule meet project stakeholder requirements.
- Communicate regularly with customers to provide project updates and address any concerns or issues that may arise.
- Work as part of a team to continuously improve processes and procedures to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
Must have
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in project administration, estimating, and shop planning within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft applications, including but not limited to Excel, Word, Project, MS Teams, Planner, etc.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with manufacturing software and ERP systems is preferred.
- Knowledge of sawmill equipment manufacturing.
