Electro-Mechanical Technician

The Electro-Mechanical Technician will operate, test, maintain, or calibrate unmanned, automated, servo-mechanical, or electromechanical equipment. May assist engineers in testing and designing electrical equipment.

 Job Tasks

  • Develop, test, or program electrical equipment
    • Test performance of electrical, electronic, mechanical, or integrated systems or equipment
    • Design electromechanical equipment or systems
  • Testing electromechanical assemblies
    • Interpret test results
    • Communicate design or operational test results
  • Read blueprints, schematics, diagrams, or technical orders to determine methods and sequences of assembly
    • Review technical documents to complete work
  • Troubleshoot electrical systems
  • Inspect parts and assemblies for defects
    • Inspect finished products to locate flaws

  Install electrical or electronic parts and hardware in housings or assemblies, using heavy equipment and hand tools

    • Install instrumentation or electronic equipment or systems
  • Practice safe working procedures
  • Align, fit, or assemble component parts, using hand or power tools, fixtures, or templates
    • Assemble equipment or components
  • Operate, test, or maintain industrial equipment
    • Test performance of electrical, electronic, mechanical, or integrated systems or equipment
    • Operate industrial equipment
    • Maintain electromechanical equipment
  • Train others to install or use automated equipment.
    • Train personnel on proper operational procedures
  • Operate metalworking machines to fabricate fixtures
    • Fabricate products or components using machine tools
